Triticum aesitivum spring, or winter with mild climates. An heirloom variety in the Mancos Valley in Southwest Colorado, Marquis can be grown as a winter or spring variety. It's a hard red wheat that was popular in breads until the middle of the 20th century prior to the industrialization of wheat. Drought tolerant and adaptive, fairly productive. Mostly awnless though exhibits some awns. Similar to Turkey Red Winter Wheat, though more versatile in the field with the winter and spring planting habits. 20g/packet.
